    Default Regional units worth it?

    Hey.

I've conquered most of Greece as Epeirus and I'm not sure whether to build level 4 government buildings or not in Sparte and Pella for the regional units. I've fought the Spartan Hoplites and they seem quite strong, but would it be worth trying to acquire them? Same with the Macedonian units, would it be worth trying to get their better regional units such as companion cavalry or are my Epeirote units similar enough that it doesn't matter?

As Epeiros, the only regional unit you get in mainland Greece is the Classical Hoplite. In Pella, you get Thracian Medium Cavalry. That's it. You can't train Spartan Hoplites as anyone else but Koinon Hellenon.

As a wider comment, I always check what regional units I get in what province and decide from there, no matter which empire I play.

Exactly - not worth it. Build the highest level government you can afford in Greece (including Crete and Rhodes).

The nearest places you want Type IV governments as Epirus is northern and central Italy, Scorcouw, Thraikia-Hypertera, Mikra Skythia and Galatia - these give you a lot of regional units and very little factional ones.
