Default Unspecified Error CTD at startup

I'm on Windows 8, I'm using Steam and I followed the installation instructions you guys posted (I changed the name of the mod to "americas" and launch from there)

When I launch the game, I see a loading screen and then the game throws an "unspecified error" and the game crashes.

Which is funny because I remember getting the mod to work before, but I did a clean reinstall of the game to work out a bug with the Stainless Steel mod and now TATW won't work for me anymore.

Well, go here, apply step 3 from section How to fix it for your steam\...\medieval 2 total war folder, and after that, restart your PC\ laptop, and, reinstall TATW.
American, French, Israeli and British government's ILLEGAL aggression against the Syrian people, without any proof for chemical attacks in Douma, and without waiting for OPCW to conduct their investigation..
Sons of *******, leave that poor, war torn country in peace.
If you are a citizen of one of these countries, then DO NOT ask any help from me on these forums, since, in protest against this aggression by your governments, I do not provide assistance/help anymore.
Let Syria be finally in peace.

A video of false chemical attack in Douma, Syria, which led to Western illegal attacks.
