    Default Help-- IBFD 5.0

I just installed everything fresh -- RTW, BI and IBFD and it won't let me start a campaign. I didn't patch anything -- is that the problem? If I click on single player and main campaign it just asks me to chose from list -- I don't know what's wrong. Any ideas? :sign0163:

(I'm going to try and reinstall everything because I just found this:
    Version required: 1.6
    Download link (http://www.badongo.com/file/276788)
    Forum link: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/show...9286#post729286
    Main features:
    - complete reskin for ALL units, including campaign map units
    - new buildings
    - campaign starts at 407AD with playable RB

NOW THAT WAS SOMETHING ONE HAD TO SEARCH FOR. There's a whole forum devoted to this mod with thousands of pages and some of the basics aren't stated up front. I didn't patch it because the IBFD dl said "no other files needed!" "stand alone install" -- oh well

    hmmmm

it's like the "quit game" feature in TW -- you have to go through 4 steps to quit -- I mean holy **** -- I wish that someone stopped to question my decision that many times before I got married. In any case, I will try it again.

In the mean time, any advice would be appreciated.

Im quite sure you need to Install RTW, Install BI, Patch BI to 1.6, then download mod and follow the instructions.

Yes -- the glitch was caused by not patching up to 1.6 -- the "stand alone" and "needs no other files" statements about the IBFD 5.0 dl led me to believe that BI didn't need to be patched -- also the patch up 1.6 part of the install isn't really presented in so many of the threads on the mod. -- (dont' you just love it when people whine about free software that people worked for months on for free and then freely distribute?) OF course, I'm very greateful for the mod just did want to mention that I go confused there -- But I've got it running and I'm playing as the Burgundians to get my feet wet, it's not even 410 and it looks like I'm going to be sent into hording mode by a horde of slavs.

Thanks for replying Miles and I hope that you reach the heights of gregariousness this weekend! :tacticalw

I think you got a point there, will make the necessity to upgrade to 1.6 clearer.
however, for what it's worth, the statement is:
    Code:
this is a standalone version and only needs RTW:BI v1.6
btw, the person who replied to you was "Total Fanatic ", 'Miles Gregarious' is his 'status/rank/level' in TWC determined by the number of posts, just as you are a 'lixa' at the moment but will, over time, also become a 'Miles Gregarious' or a 'Tesserarius' or what not...
