    Default reduce mercenary spawn/respawn

    how can i reduce the mercenary spawn/respawn?

    i mod my RTR PE 1.6 game and gave units some BI abilities like swim shieldwall etc..
    and i changed building time to a minimum of 2 turn for every unit to reduce massive stack fights

    now i just need to reduce the respawn of mercenary because they
    with higher building times make game to easy for player if he start recruit merc units massiv he still able get big armies

    any ideas where i can reduce mercenary spawn/respawn to around the half of now?

    In the folder data/world/maps/campaign/campaign_name
    you should have descr_mercenaries.txt, lines look like
    unit merc barbarian infantry, exp 0 cost 800 replenish 0.06 - 0.19 max 2 initial 1


    You need to make the numbers in bold type smaller. Don't know if halving them would halve spawn time but that seems logical - so try that, then trial and error.

    hmmm this change affect running campaign or just fresh started ones?
    because of that initial value..... ?

    I believe it only effects future games and you have to delete map.rwm to get the change to take effect. If you do that it can sometimes have strange effects on saved games.

    ok seems there allways people here
    that can help with that mod stuff and fast reply

    so next question :

    the bi abilities i activated are working just the
    buttons have no picture and look a bit strange(like no pic found) where u activate
    shield_wall and so on

    i guess i need just to copy the pic from bi into some rtw folder
    but dont know the name of files
    and from where to where i must copy it

    You won't be able to see RTW files that need changing unless you have unpacked data/packs folder - Ive only changed this on game working under -mod:my_mod - if you're not using that I can't help much.

    Except the files you need to copy and incorporate are rtw/data/bi/ui/battle3.rsd and rtw/data/bi/ui/culture/interface/battlepage_03.tga
    In -mod:my_mod you can get them included using path rtw/my_mod/data/ui/etc
    if you're working in rtw/data try adding the ui/etc path but I'm not sure if that is read before packs or not....

    EDIT: also if you do unpack your rtw folder - please note, it doesn't read it from the unpacked location, data/packs/data etc , that's just for your reference, you need to move things back to rtw/data/ui path for them to be read by game and some things still default to the .pak files first.

    thx for answer that seems to complicated for my own use
    because the gameplay adjustments i made are done easy
    and this no image on shildwall power is just an cosmetic one
    i can live without beeing fixed

    thx for help anyway was hoping its done as easy as the other stuff
