My flags are gone during battle.

Like the title says. The faction and upgrade flags aren't appearing when I'm on the battle map. It happened after I installed the Third Age Total War mod. I've deleted it and done several clean installs of my Medieval 2 Gold edition. I've tried editing the medieval2.preference file but the show banners option isn't there. These are the only things on the file.

I'm using Windows 7.

TATW.cfg in the Third Age folder,

show_banners = 0

. change the 0 to a 1.

No.

Unhide all files, folders, and drives in Folder Options and search for medieval2.preferences.cfg. Odds are Windows has the good hid in %appdata%.

Found the appdata but it's not there. The only medieval2preference file is in the game data but it only has the 2 options on it. @_@

Then add that value to the .cfg file and save it. Make sure it's not read-only before you do so. Good luck!

If you can start a campaign, the game generated one. You'll have to search for it.

TATW has set the flags intentional to zero because they are still the vanilla ones.

Open the CFG file in the medieval ii total war\mods\Third_age folder with Notepad and then change the entry as irishron said in post #2

The files just aren't there. I've reinstalled Third Age, started a campaign and everything. Preferences file just has the 2 things on it like before and adding show_banners=1 does nothing.
