Because the stories where a brother do not backstab becomes a tale? No.
You have a certain mentality, a "you vs them" and i know it is hard to see, but it is only your imagination which makes up enemies everywhere. I haven't professed anything but being neutral so why Do you feel the need to defend yourself from me?. Truly What are you defending? when there is nobody attacking?

We had over a hundred years of continuous civil wars in Norway where all participants were from the same damn family.

As for the second episode, it was great.

    Spoiler for Second episode spoilers

The raid on Lindsfarne was well done, simple and brutal. No stupid moral qualms or anything like that, which I appreciated. Ragnar's brother is ruthless though and I like Ragnar's wife. She is headstrong and fiery and still had to stay home and watch the kitchen . I think this episode is even better than the first and the next one is going to be interesting once the crew gets back with their riches.

They wanted to attract younger men yet in all polls it clearly shows that we like men like Ned stark and not Littlefinger or jaime.
    Huh?

Question to all Norwegians out there:

Isn't naming your child Loki suppose to bring bad-luck or something?

If you mean the shipp builder. His name is Floki. The boy asked if it is like the name of the good Loki and Ragnar answered something like that.

Just saw the second episode, and I'm still impressed. This is proving to be quite the series.

Penguin, I think that the guy you're talking about is called Floki.

I used HotSpot Shield, which gives you a US IP address. Don't ask me more technical details than that, lol, but it works on History's website.

Second episode was great! I am really enjoying this now. I care for the characters already, even the bastards.

Still,is it just me or did the action in the first episode was a bit rushed?

I was expecting a bit of a more emphasis on the characters first, their background/past life etc

Other than that i really like the acting,as specially the way Ragnarok talks and how Floki behaves, really fits the characters

getting to watch episode 2 right now, maybe i'll change my mind

Episode 2 was nice i suppouse,i was waiting for some madness and mutinies but nothing i can add for now

Well my bit was shot in November, so it'll probably be one of the last episodes. But I've only seen the first one, so I can't say for sure. Not to worry, my ego won't allow me to overlook such an opportunity to show off.
You'll probably hear me say: "see that incredibly tall muscly good looking viking dude with cool tattoos, well I'm the short hairy guy beside him looking off into the distance wearing a night-gown for some reason". My list of excuses are: it was filmed on a really really steep slope and this massive pig kept on breaking out of it's pen and charging at me for some reason, so I was looking at him, trying to psyche him out, I didn't choose that costume, I chose another one with a cool hat and leather armour and I was super hung-over (it was the day after Halloween) and it was super cold so my years of thespian schooling were of no avail to me as I was frozen to the spot. Other than that I can't wait to see myself in such an amazing series.

Only heard of this show 10 minutes ago when I saw this thread. Looks very watchable. Will definitely give it a look.

Though having seen the trailer, I'm worried by the sight of that woman running around with an axe...

It's obvious that one brother envies the other; the question is how they'll resolve it.

    Eats, shoots, and leaves.

Well, if searching for beef gives you horse, I assume searching for Romans will give you Vikings.
