TATW unspecified error

I have the game launching on steam and when i start the mod the loading screen comes up but then a few seconds later it says "medieval 2 total war has encountered an unspecified error and will now exit.
please help if you can this is being run on windows 7

Have a look at this thread, to make sure you installed it correctly. Try reinstalling following one of the Steam methods, then come back here if you still need help.

I have the steam version of m2tw and have windows 7.
when i click third age campaign it lets me select a nation but when i click start it brings me to the main menu and crashes if i click anything else. I also have the MOS sub-mod installed.
