Kingdoms runs with extreme lag

I looked around to see if I could get help for my problem, but couldn't find a thread about it. When I play Medieval 2 without the Kingdoms expansion it runs normally, but when I play all the expansions (Briton, Americas, etc.) they run with a crazy amount of lag. I tried to remedy this by lowering all the settings to the lowest possible, but it still didn't help. It's weird because the regular version works fine. Does anyone else face this problem? Have you solved it? Any help someone can offer will be appreciated

Kingdoms uses about 25%+ more resources than Medieval2 and the reason for this. Don't expect CA to admit it, though.
