PC Spec improvement help/advice please

On a Limited budget to upgrade this PC hopefully to something that can run NTW, right now I can play the game as long as I use auto resolve and not fight any battles, I want battles.

I have a budget of about £100 which is enough to buy a new ATI 7770 card but I am wondering if the money would be better spent on Windows 7 64bit and additional Ram?

I could possibly stretch to £100 a month over three months so maybe you guys could help me select a few upgrades that I could purchase each month allowing me to gradually get a better game experiance.

I look forward to hearing suggestions from you all.

Buy 2GB more RAM, and make sure its the same as what you have now (speed wise and voltage wise)

About the 7770, its a really horrible card for the price - not worth it basically. If you want the most value for your money look at the 7850 or 7870, those two cards are awesome, price to performance wise.

You are correct about the card, just been researching them on Toms hardware. I am not sure about your idea about adding 2GB more Ram on a 32bit XP operating system though, I am under the impression that only 64bit OS would recognize anything above 2GB?

The 2gb of ram will help more than you think. It will get you to fighting battles.

I have plans of moving to Win 7 64bit by winter this year and buying 16gb ram, but if you think that an additional 2gb will get me rolling now it sure looks like a far cheaper option for me as my hard earnt pennies are indeed needed elsewhere. I was convinced that you needed 64bit for your OS to recognize anything above 2 GB. I'll get the Ram ordered this weekend as that is something I can afford

Nevermind, I just googled it an it runs on a differant voltage so it will not work. I hate Ebay

DDR2 are becoming hard to come by.

To use DDR3, it will also cost you a new motherboard and cpu.

The ceiling for 32 bit is 4gb including graphics.
I don't recommend 64 bit until 3gb and above.
