    Default Recruitable Generals

Based on the information we have gotten lately. 2 things make the addition of recruitable generals a must on Rome II.

    1. All armies will be forced to have a general. This is enough reason to add recruitable generals to the game, in fact i don't see how this would work if there are not recruitable generals on the game.

    2. The Senate will be able to take generals from your command and you will be able to give generals to the Senate as well. *And i'm going to assume that this feature will also be on the other factions one way or another.* Not having the ability to recruit generals would make it seriously annoying if the Senate decides to take one of your most skilled generals.

Of course CA would have to make the recruitment of generals take some time *like 1 or 2 years* That way it would prevent the spamming of armies from the AI.

But yeah, Rome II should have recruitable generals.

well i dont think you can recruit them since your armies are lead by familie members.
But i guess you can adopte people so they become part of your family. Maybe you can adopt people at any time now.

I don't think Rome II will completely depend on family tree for military leadership. But i do hope an adoption feature is on game. Adoption was common in this time period and not only Rome did it.

I really hope they do have recruitable generals. It would also be nice if you can choose whom to adopt from a pool of characters instead of just getting a candidate for adoption. (referring to RTW/M2TW) It would be nice if they made captains into characters with same depth as Generals/Family members as well.

My bet is on Family members, Senatorial generals and recruitable mercenary Generals (like some RomeI mods had it)

Generals may be recruit-able like they were in ETW, just a standard unit that was recruited each turn that became a general or promoted from one of your units. Hopefully, CA will make it more complex then this but they may turn to their old recruitment method.

It's been a while since i started this thread, and it really amazes me CA staff hasn't care to explain about it in any of their posts.

I still believe for this new system CA is planning, Recruitable Generals should be a must.

It was stated that you can appoint generals from your family or from the Senate but the problem is that it weakens your standing in the Senate. If you promote someone from a different family from the Senate you weaken them there but risk having him go AWOL on you

I don't know why, but I'm kinda assuming that you can't choose a general. I think a general will just be assigned to an army, just like happened historically, at least in Rome. And maybe if you have good relations with the senate faction it's more likely that a member from you faction is chosen.

It would be cool if you had a pool of characters to choose from for different roles with in your faction. I think NTW had that at least for generals. I hated not being able to recruit generls in shogun 2.
