FOTS Question Cant Find Answer ANYWHERE!

Hi guys,
I can not for the life of me figure out how to replenish units for any of my generals. I'm sure its something stupid and obvious but I've looked through multiple forums and guides and I cant find even a mention.
Any help would be a lifesaver for my current campaign.

I believe if you rest your general in a city or town his bodyguard can replenish

Thanks John. I've already tried that and no luck. I also tried researching technology that allows you to train and replenish Revolver Calvary and making the building that allows you to build them, but again to no avail...
One strange thing is that the small circle that shows how many troops are replenishing each turn appear above my generals but they say "Men replenish this turn: 0" when I hover the mouse over them.

If this is the case, then its most likely a weird bug in the game. I don't think there are any fixes to it. Try to see if your generals will replenish on a different save. If they don't, re-installing may be your best bet.

This. Also, are you running any mods?

Nope just vanilla. The generals should just replenish like everyone else, right? Nothing special needed?
Looks like its gonna be a re-install if no one chimes in.

From what i remember they replenish better with a modern school.

Try Verifying on Steam first, will save a lot of time. Definitely sounds like a weird bug, not one I've ever come across/heard about though

Possibly, are you thinking your generals should replenish to their sword-waving numbers when they have pistols? When you are low tech your general's bodyguard is 60-something, but after pistols it goes to about 1/3 that. I've geisha'd away generals with huge bodyguards and next turn they normalize down to the lower number.

Yep, the modern generals have far less bodyguards. That might be the reason. It also sometimes depends on some traits, you can have a General with few maximum bodyguards. They will replenish only in castles, and very slowly.

Also, if you have used mods at any point in time, I recommend you to reinstall the game.
