Multiplayer Campaign! Around the time M2TW was announced it was all I remember talking about here. While it would not work so well for public servers, a multiplayer campaign mode would give hours of fun to clans and people playing on a LAN connection. Unfortunately it doesnt seem to be a feature in M2TW. Or if we are luckly, CA may be secretly working on it...

How would a MP Campaign even work? Like how would you have a battle if he's not online while your playing your turn?

Yes becuase spending tons of money on a feature that would delay the game by months if not years, plus raise development costs massively plus be played by a minute number of people is realy damned stupid.

SP gets boring too fast. I'm the most important consumer, who cares what the masses want.

We don't have to stop dreaming, we just shouldn't, because it will raise our expectations about the game, and when we find our expectations are not met, it will make us enjoy the game less.
I expect it to be like RTW but with better graphics, animations, and campaign AI. Its likely for that to be true.
A multiplayer campaign won't work with the current engine, and it would take forever. The game would have to be one turn per day for it to be possible.
One thing I hope for in the future is the ability to fight naval battles, but I doubt it will happen.

mmm... would a multiplayer campaign even be fun? Late in game there is like a thousand and two things to micro manage, unless there would be some timer that forced all players to finish their turns quickly ppl would be waiting for each other to finish their turns for eons. If there was a limited time per turn it would get very stressful and maybe almost unplayable during the later stages of the campaign when you got lots of countries to govern. Games like civilization should in theory be fun in multiplayer but yet the vast majority of players only play the single player campaign..

Also in MTW2 if two players went into battle with each other, the other players might have to wait for them to finish for maybe half an hour or so or however long it would take them to fight it out.

Indeed, I'm more worried about the AI and Diplomacy etc than a multi campaign as cool as it would be.

Truth is, more people buy games for Singleplayer. It makes sense for a company to focus on SP if that's where their profits are going to be coming from, I can honestly say I have never played a single game of RTW online because the SP Campaign is much fun to be had.

obviously in realistic terms (as we wont be getting a mp campaign) those 2 definately are the ones they need to work on most, theres so much more that could be done with diplomacy (and it looks like, they havent really done that much bar a makeover in graphics and some minor details), and ai..well...i just hope it will be better than fighting armies of peasants..

Count me out of your "we" and "our." Not interested in the rudeness, ruthlessness, and gaminess that becomes online play for this game.

To me this is a waste of the developers time better spent on other things.

Now a MMP online game in which we were all minor nobles of sorts with the potential to bring our men-at-arms to the service of a clan lord in massive online battles in which you command your men in some sort of interesting structure beneath an online king or something in a perpetuual world, not just a battle, that ran in some sort of pseudo real time where you need to manage your personal estate and such...... now THAT might kick ass! Ah... I might betray my "lord" at some crucial moment...

Yeah MP Campaign is hell no, but future titles possibly
