Hey Everyone,
After about a month of gruelling gameplay, I have finally finished my peasant campaign. I have all 112 regions just shy of about 30 turns left. All nations - except Papal States - are dead. I'll be getting on these videos when I've finished editing my blitz series.
If you're thinking of trying this challenge, here is my review of it.
Rating out of 10
Fun - 1/10
Difficulty - 9/10
Time consumption - 9/10
Frustration value - 10/10
Just a refresher on what the challenge was:
1. You are only allowed to purchase peasants - Muslim peasants are the worst, so I chose Egypt
2. You are allowed to purchase boats and use them however you please.
3. You are NOT allowed to use generals in any way. Since you do need at least 1 in order to keep your faction alive, you may keep them in a fort. They are not allowed to do anything.
4. You are NOT allowed to purchase agents - not even priests/imams
5. You are allowed to fight the battles in any way you see fit, even if it is downright dirty or cheap. However, all battles - aside for the odd tiny brigands that pop up from time to time - must be manually fought
6. You are allowed to save and reload. This is vital because you are bound to get a low authority faction leader at some point and the last thing you need is a whole stack of peasants turning rebel.
7. You may only make diplomatic offerings if the other faction initiates.
8. You are NOT allowed to call Crusades/Jihads
9. You are NOT allowed the sally out glitch - this would make the game too easy. Just in case you don't know, this is where the enemy sally out but right before the battle begins, in the first 1 or 2 seconds, you exit the battle, and it is declared a null battle. Would be easy to take out whole rebel settlements with 1 peasant.
10. All other glitches and non-cheat exploits are allowed.
11. Difficulty must be set to VH/VH.
12. No modifications. Must be Vanilla 1.03.
13. You must have all 112 regions by turn 226 and have defeated all factions - except papacy.
