It might be possible, but the chances the AI will call both is pretty much 0 I think. it might be tested in a hotseat campaign where you can take control of any faction at any time.
I believe it is possible, what would be interesting is to know if the Jihad/Crusade is over after the other Crusade/Jihad is successful, if you get what I mean. That would create one massive *********.
I'm pretty sure there are a few cities that at the beginning can be cursaded and jihaded by both sides (Damascus?), so it does seems strange that it has never happened.
Fear not, crusader, Prester John will save you from the wrath of the Devil.
Might be possible with a script or something.
I haven't personally witnessed it, but I think it's possible. BTW, Constantinople and Jerusalem have crusade, jihad, and horde_target as resources. It would be fun as an excommunicated Catholic faction, trying to hold Jerusalem against the crusaders, mujahideen, and Mongols at the same time.
Yes, it's possible for a city to be a target of both Crusade and Jihad simultaneously.
It's definitely possible. Let me find the post number in my AAR where this exact event happened. I ended up taking on like 5 different stacks or so after winning the city myself as Spain. I killed multiple stacks with my single one, but lost against the last attack.
EDIT: Here we go. Post #17. I take the rebel-held city of Jerusalem after sieging it until it surrendered just in case I had to fight multiple stacks. I fight off both the Egyptians and Turks without too much trouble, but the Moors bring catapults and push through my lines to take the city.
