    Default fps fluctuate too much

I just bought a geforce gtx 670 and when playing total war shogun 2 (and other games) my fps fluctuate too much. Sometimes it's 60 but on certain moments it drops to around 15-20 fps.
What's the problem?? I thought i had bought a good graphic card, but it is a big dissapointment(even worse then my old gtx 560).

    Windows vista 64
    Intel core i5 650 3.2 ghz
    Geforce Gtx 670
    6gb ram

Total War, how much of it is the cpu?
Differences between open country and city?
    Zoomed in and out?

For Shogun2 these are more cpu dependent than gpu.

670 should be more than enough so that should not be the problem. However, Shogun 2 is more CPU heavy so it might be your i5 but since I know nothing about that CPU I can't tell.

For example on battlefield 3 I got between 40 and 50 fps but it looks like I play with 15fps... does my cpu bottleneck???

    I've never played BF3 so I wouldn't know.

There is that chance it could be. Have you checked their forums?

I will ask it at a pc hardware forum, maybe a better place to ask, but thanks anyway
