I can't even start the game

Hello everyone,
2 days ago i installed this mod with the sub-mod mos v1.41. it worked without any problem however the sub-mod was too slowing so i decided to play without any sub-mods. i am pretty sure that i uninstalled everything and installed it again without any problems but it just doesn't work. when i start the game i see the first loading screen and suddenly get ctd. i tried installing again a few more times but its still the same. please help me with this i really want to play this mod.

btw i forgot to mention, when i try to install the first part of tatw 3.0, the required space seems to be only 500 mb considering that part 1 is more than 1.5 gb i think its something weird. so i thought it might be a download problem and downloaded the mod again but everything is still the same.

my TA vanilla part two is 1.99GB

have you checked virtual store ?

and when you do a full uninstall just delete the relevant TA folder in your mods folder then check control panel to see of there is anything else to uninstall because in my experience uninstalls and med 2 are troublesome at best (things get left behind that screw up the next installation,maybe this is just me)

Yep, I think this is probably the problem. Delete any TATW related files in the virtual store. There may be save game files there so you can save them if you want. The virtual store is located here:

C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Sega\Medieval2 Total War

thank you very much guys. apparently i didn't delete the third age files in virtualstore because those files were hidden. now the game works fine.

and just a suggestion when you are bored of vanilla the other sub-mods don't slow the game turns down nearly as much its just Mod because it is very script heavy
