Default RS2 - Changes in EDU don't show up in campaign

First of all good morning people. I'd like to assure you I have searched the forums extensively and have in theory found a fix for this problem, but it seems I still get the same problem. So I had no choice but to ask you guys for help.

So I'm playing Rome One-Turn and I thought about editing the Roman Velites by reducing the spacing between them and increasing unit size from 40 to 60 (as well as improving morale and sword attack a bit) in order to turn them into more effective hybrid skirmishers/light infantry. I've edited EDU's for quite a long time both on RTW and M2TW, so I'm familiar with that.

The usual EDU I edit is the one found in the main data folder. I did edit it a few months ago to increase the size of the Spartan Hippeis Xenophontos and some other units and it worked straight away, no problems whatsoever. But when I tried editing the Roman units prior to starting a new campaign, I noticed that unit sizes and attack stats remained the same so I did as I found on some forum threads:

    1) Deleted map.rwm from the launcher and a) Started a new campaign b) Tried to load an existing campaign. Neither applied the EDU changes.
    2) Edited every single EDU associated with Rome in the _IMPORTANT_STUFF folder. None applied the changes.
    3) Tried both the 0-turn and 1-turn campaigns, EDU changes never showed up.
    4) Rechecked the EDU files I edited. The changes were still there so it is not a matter of them being changed back, it's a matter of the game ignoring them, right?

That pretty much covers it. I don't get how impossible this is looking xD any help is appreciated

Check rome one-turn folder and 0-turn to see if they have their own EDU inside. those will be the ones need editing. The important stuff EDU are alternatives to replace the existing ones.

Okay so I edited the one in Rome Total War/Play_Rome_One_Turn/data like the others, but when I start the game it crashes and gives me this message:

"Script error in play_rome_one_turn/data/export_descr_buildings.txt, at line 91, column 44. Unknown unit specified: roman legionary"

Okay...this is weird. I haven't touched export_descr_buildings -_- just edited some EDU stats as usual...halp lol

Fall back to the previous EDU and retry?

Just did. It works now but obviously since it's back to the original EDU I'm back to square one :/

I don't really understand why this error popped up. All I changed was the unit size, morale and sword attack of a couple of units. Why did EDB interfere?

Nevermind: Had an EDU mix-up, that's why EDB had issues. Game worked well with edited stats now, I thank you for your help +rep
