very expensive port upgrades
I notice some cities have very expensive port upgrades (around 35.000 or even 64.000 mnai). Are they worth every penny of it? They only see to give around 200 mnai bonus each turn, so you can't call them short or middle long term investments (like mines are).

Those are for when you are drowning in money and have nowhere else to spend it on.

I'm building the large ports in my Carthaginian campaign. In fact, Carthage has no more buildings to build. So that's when you build them.

Yes! I can build these ports now to, find them to expensive tho, are they worth it? Like mines...

From what I know mines will give you LOTS of money. Specifically in places like Illyria and Iberia. I'm not too sure about ports though. It doesn't seem like much money for what you spend but I suppose if you're rich and want to avoid corruption......

You buy ports when you have too much money and nothing to spend it on!

Even though in the end you will only end up with more money.
If you have too much money, try building a fleet.
