Again, this is not the thread for deciding what action to take, just whether action should be taken. However we do not and should not ever make an example of any user, all should be treated equally and fairly.

I saw this before it was deleted. Absolutely delicious and gratifying to see. While I may agree with every sentiment expressed in the post, it doesn't really excuse the behavior. I don't think the CdeC could fairly vote to dismiss the case without losing any sort of respectability. The case must go forward. I have the utmost respect and love for Harry, but when he posted this he knew what he was inviting and he decided it was worth the consequences. He's been around the block, he knows better, and he knew what would come of it. I'm not going to vote to burn him at the stake but we can't ignore this.

For the curious, the censor can be bypassed by adding italic tags to one letter of the word, changing the color of one letter, etc.

I'm sorry guys, but I really don't see what is so difficult in deciding this referral, but that's just me. I am deciding whether his behaviour was unbecoming of a Citizen. Frankly, it was. Direly so. That has got to have been one of the most insulting posts I have seen, I don't care who he said it to and why. Citizens are held to a higher level, and as part of that higher level I'd expect any Citizen to be able to show a bit more decency in a reply, to find a way to argue against any member (Ferrets in this case) without sinking to such a response. Yes, we could say if he did't use the profanities or the direct insults it would have been a fair reply to the post he was replying to. However, he didn't.

Yes HL is a respected member of this site, but as a Citizen he is also held to a certain level, no matter who he is. Whilst it isn't my place to say the fact it was 3 points as well....

All in all this is a referral for insulting others, surely that post is rather insulting?

As I'm not willing to spend a several hours cherry-picking through my PM's to see which ones I can discard (some are very precious to me so a delete all approach is not an option) and because I have 3 active points I am unable to respond like some sort of geriatric, graffiti scribbler on your various walls. I will take this option and scandalously start a thread here in the Curia.

Firstly, forgive my tardiness, I have been on holiday. A very nice holiday, indeed but let's move on to more pertinent matters. I was asked for a defence for my post, I have none. It was terrible behaviour, a despicable example to set to the rest of the forums and even though it was my only indiscretion here in our virtual society I would still expect it to be met with a full and proportionate response from the CdeC. I have 'judged' people in one form or another for 5 years on this forum and it's only fitting that the hammer falls hardest on those that wielded it with the forum's previous acceptance.

In regards to the issue of publication of sentence. I would ask that, in the interests of justice being seen to be done, that it be made public with one exception. That the offending post be omitted for reasons that it serves no purpose beyond general titillation of the masses and because I have already acknowledged my guilt in the affair, it would only further harm relations amongst other, inculpable members of the fora. For myself the harm has already been done and I care not but let this be an end to the matter. If the omission of the referred post is not possible due to technical or archaic reasons then let the judgement be delivered in private.
