    Default Problems regarding singleplayer campaign.

Heyy, been stalking around the forums like a creep for a while, looking for a fix for a specific problem i've been having regarding RSII.

    I'm running Windows 7,
Unsure of how to check my RTW Version.
RSII Is installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rome Total War Gold

After ALOT of trouble installing RSII Into a steam version of RTW, (And I mean like, reinstalling RTW Gold at least 4 - 5 times), I've finally got to a stage whereby I can save options through the launcher, and then run RTW Through steam. Attempting to launch RS through its launcher results in a box popping up saying 'Problem checking Steam Application'.

My only problem at the moment is that when i've loaded RSII, There is no campaign option. I've selected my faction (Macedon FTW!) And saved, however under the singleplayer menu there are only Custom/historical battles.

Am I completely derping out, or should I just go buy the game on disk for like, $2.

    Thanks heaps in advance,

    -Fireglobe

It's not recommended to install RTW in the program files directory. Maybe u have other options but those i know involve disabling UAC (start >type 'UAC' in win7 search box and move slider down) all together or moving your steam directory out of program files. The correct way to launch the mod is through the launcher. Pretty sure google will have guides on howto move your steam folder without completely re-downloading and installing everything.

There are some work-arounds mentioned in this thread: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=588795

I presume once paedric is happy with the solution it will be added to the 'known problems' thread.....

No fixes in that thread worked,

I'll consider moving my steam file, Re-downloading RTW:G and fresh installing.

Will post back if i'm succesful or not.

    Thanks.

Alternatively, i'll try copying over a fresh RTW:G Directory into like, C:\games, and patching the launcher, seeing as it's a problem with not being able to access steam.

Have you resolved this now? It seems from this thread (here) you're now up and running.

I am getting this same problem with my Steam RTW Gold Version of the Game.
No Singleplayer Option exists on the Menu.

My Steam folder is in C:\GamesPC\Steam

It works fine with my old Activision version of the game on DVD.

Resolved - Edited the Launcher in Steam Properties per above.
