So in my campaign i have offered my daughter to one clan and i have made my general marry a person from another clan. So other does this have any benefits other than diplomatic relations?

IE-Could my the offspring's from the inter clan marriage end up becoming the heir and help me or something? Can one take over a clan or stake claim in this way? how long do i have to wait before i could lay claim?

Diplomatic relations bonus and can be used to get better deal (instead of alliance + trade for example alliance + trade + 1k koku or sth like that)

Sorry, no. Inheritance mechanics are dead simple in S2TW. Relations boost is meant to represent all collective perks of marrying into other clans; inheritance dilemmas don't come into it.

But i remember reading somewhere that if the other clan dynamo dies, you could lay claim to it?

That would be pretty cool, considering that AI throws daimyos away like nobody's business. Early game sees tons of clans led by widows. I will need to test this specifically to confirm but in all my time with the game I've never come across an option which would allow me to lay a claim to another clan's leadership.

There is no such option to inherit another clan lands. You could inherit it in Shogun (2000), when you were allied to clan and their daimyo died without heir. In S2, when daimyo dies, clan leadership goes to the heir. If heir is not old enough, regency begins. If there is heir, power goes to another branch of clan. (With leadership going to another branches I'm for 100% sure in case of AI, In case of player i'm not entirely sure (no such "fate" ever happened to me).

Marriage just for a better deal or make sure they will love you [which is helpful when you don't want them to attack you so soon]

Which I don't see why not : ) you have a daughter and she can't help you anything but marriage, unlike Medieval you can use her as spy or some sort.

well i have been waiting around in my campaign to test this, hopefully I am correct cause i have passed over a lot of opportunities to smash the Takeda and Hojo to bits...
