    Default Longer battles?

    Hey, i was just wondering if anyone knows how to make the mens moral in battle go down alot slower, {no i don't mean taking turning moral off} Battles I have last 2-5 minutes max when they engage before running off. It makes it slightly boring so if anyone can suggest anything I can do i'd be greatful.

    Why not try the SPQR mod which GREATLY increased the battle length, with better skins, better battles, more balanced(horses were nerfed), and most importantly, more fun.

    I can give u an example, last night I fought a pre-reform roman vs greek battle (1800 vs 3000), battle last almost 30 min, I lost 1200 man and killed 2600 greeks.

    Keep in mind SPQR was a mod for constant battles, so you will fight alot with full stack armies. If you don't like to fight alot, you should try RTR.(However I think RTR is too slow for my taste)

    The highlighted number is their basic moral level. Just increase it to give the unit higher moral. You can also change the parts where it says "normal, untrained" to say maybe "normal, trained", "disciplined, trained" or "disciplined, highly_trained", etc.

    Increasing morale to 15, while it will slow down battles, will make units fight almost to the death. Decreasing the # I highlighted will slow down battles without throwing anything else off. It's sometimes reffered to as the Leathality or chance to hit ratio. I set my mods at 0.5 . Only apply it to the melee weapons or it will screw up your missle stats. Also you may want to slow down the movement speed in, descr_battlemap_movement_modifiers, so your ability to reinforce isn't thrown off.

    Great =]. What about, HitPoints? Shall i give them like 2/3 to make them last longer in a fight or wouldn't you suggest that?

    My personal opinion is not too. It will make them superhuman. The main problem is your exp bonuses, and weapon/armor bonuses. If you play with any of the other stats systematically, it tends to water these down and they can't be increased. At least the weapon and armor bonuses can't. Use the other stats to fine tune individual units rather than changing the whole lot of them. Usually less is better, and it's alot less work too. Another thing, this #,

    stat_sec 6, 13, no, 0, 0, melee, simple, piercing, knife, 0 ,0.68

    is called Min delay between attacks, when reduced it speeds kills up slightly. It's usually set at 25 and should probably stay there.

    Collision mass is also a factor, but - Pat - can you explain why the area attribute for the melee weapon? I am of course familiar with all this from Darth but I am not sure of how "area" affects the combat in this context.

    You could increase the defense value or change everything to 1hp higher, may i suggest the RTG for such a feeling. A spear vs spear with RTG can take like 40 minutes to end.
