EB ONLINE - MULTIPLAYER

Alright, so i've been playing EB offline for over a year now, and i'm pretty sure a bunch of other players have as well. I just recently started playing EB Online last night, and it's 10x's more fun when you have a smart AI to fight against.

Don't you offline EB players get sick of playing the same dead beat campaigns with stupid AI again and again. This is your time to stand up and play one another face to face, having smart competitions.

In this thread, i will give you the website and the means to play online. If you have any questions about it ask me on here. Later today i might even upload amazing 3o3 huge battles that EB Online experience can offer. It's amazing! thousands of units online verging together for one epic battle.

For all those interested in playing this game online. here is what you do.

1) go to http://www.ebmultiplayer.com/getting-started/ (This website will give you the run down on what files you need to install to your EB directory in order to play.)

2) go here and download the software, and install it. You might have to Register and activate your email address. https://secure.logmein.com/products/.../download.aspx (This is the meeting place for all the EB players to chat and get together) "This is freeware"

3) go to https://www.evolvehq.com/groups/eb-online (register, activate account, then go to EB Online Group and click Join us. ) after you have done that, install the software (its a small download) install it to default location. log on and make private rooms where we can play together.

I'll try to explain this the best way i can. You can play others with using the step 2 download and software. But their network has a cap of 30 players. So step 2 is more of the meeting place, while step 3 is the place where people make temporary playing rooms and invite each other. That's where we can hold thousand of players online who play EB.

Once you guys are in your own private room in evovle. Just go to your EB multiplayer icon in your directory ( i put mine on my desktop ) and go in the game, and go to multiplayer and go to the LAN Room Lobby.

If you are having trouble seeing others in the lan lobby, try going to the Control Panel in your start menu. Then go to Network Settings. Click on Change Adapter Settings. press Alt key if you don't see the advanced sub menu at the top of your screen. Then go to Advanced Settings and make sure your Evovle Software is all the way at the bottom of your list, 2nd to last. Then press OK . And go back in the LAN room in your game and see if it works.

Now all you need is a video with

a) much better FPS
b) zooming in so people can see the EB units
c) a more interesting map (no easy flatlands)

to promote the vivid EB gameplay and give a much better impression of how much fun EB can be.

So all you're asking for is just a cinematic EB video with epic music? That's all?

I've got some questions.

I installed RTW 1.5, but then installed Barbarian Invasion 1.6 as well. I've been playing EB single player through the BI.exe for years, and haven't touched the RTW exe since.

Do I have to reinstall RTW 1.5?

Also, I installed EB, but didn't install Trivial Script because I didn't know what it was and thought it might be a virus.

Do I have to reinstall EB and lose all my single-player mods? Or is there a way to play multiplayer without Trivial Script?

You can play EB multiplayer without the Trivial Script. I believe there are two EDU backup folders in the EB mod folder. One is for sp, the other for mp. When you install the latest mp EDU for EB Online, you can copy the EDU from the mp edu backup folder into your eb/data folder and overwrite. Launch your game and you'll be mp-ready. Remember to copy the sp backup to the eb/data folder if and when you want to go back to playing your sp campaigns.

How do you get the trivial script to work? I cant figure it out for the life of me.

Install the trivial script/copy the folder/etc in to the EB folder within the RTW folder your EB is located in. For reference, for me that would be: "C:\Rome Total War Mods\Europa Barbarorum\EB". After that it should hopefully work.
