You can bribe provinces?

Hey, i was playing Darth Mod and i put in a couple of ashigaru in a stronghold. An enemy metsuke bribed them in the stronghold and consequently next turn i found out i had lost the province. So I presume its possible to bribe provinces?

It's not technically bribery, but yeah basically.

As far as I recall you can either bribe army (if there is army in settlement) or bribe the settlement if there is no army present.

You can bribe all provinces and any armies except Daimyo stayed inside that city or lead the army.

Also clan capitals can't be bribed.

Does bribery require a war declaration? In any case, inciting revolts is much much cheaper. The rebels will reduce the strength of the defending army, at the very least.

Bribe is a war declaration so think carefully before do so

However, you can use this trick, send Monk to provoke the city and then Rebel will came out to take it and owned by themselves and then you just take it by force, Rebel is trash of so you can crush them so easily. This way will be easier and will not provoke a war declaration by others, however, you will get negative relation with that clan you try to bribe [especially you fail to provoke]

If you on war already, just go for it, do whatever to take the lands from your rival : )

You NEED to have an army around where you will bribe. It might actually be better to bribe an enemy province instead of pissing neutral people off.
