No singleplayer option?
Whenever I open the game it only lets me choose battlefield which has the options: historical battles and custom battle.
Any idea why this is happening?
This is how I installed it:
1.Downloaded the installer
2.Created a folder called Rome Surrectum II
3.Copied the folder to steam/steamapps/common/rometotalwargold
4.Also copied the content of the map Rome Surrectum II into steam/steamapps/common/rometotalwargold
5.Added the launcher on steam as a non-steam game
6.Launch the launcer and select my faction
7.Open rome total war gold edition through Steam.

Re: No singleplayer option?
I've been having the same problem, as well. But it does work as it's own little thing, but I DO want to be able to talk to my friends while playing.
