    Default Question about file size

I hope this is the right area.

So, I had a bootlegged copy of M2TW that a friend downloaded onto my computer, for the past year. It took up about 6GB, roughly. I went to download one of the patches, as I planned on trying one of the mods on here, but suddenly the game wouldn't work anymore. I assumed it had something to do with the fact that it was pirated. Long story short, I purchased the download for M2TW: Gold + Kingdoms yesterday, from Amazon. Got everything installed, it works great. I only added the Teutonic and Britannia campaigns for kingdoms, since I had no interest in the other two. The download was supposed to be 9GB, as it said on the site, but it turned out being 12GB. This is now twice the size of the previous version that I had, of the same game. I'm looking at my programs folder and I notice that M2TW is taking up 19.5GB and each kingdom campaign is about 1GB each. This seems unreal. How can it all be so much larger than it was before? Forget kingdoms, the M2TW is like three times the size as it was before. Is there something I can do about this? Are there files that don't need to be saved anymore, now that the game is installed? Also, is there any possibility to delete the files associated with battle scenes, as I don't tend to manually fight the battles anyway? This just ate up a ton of space on my hard drive. Anyone got any suggestions, that don't involve having some removable storage device to put it on?

Do you have a link to Amazon were you bought this?

Steam say 11 gb for m2tw, 5 gb for kingdoms. The rest is due to patches, which are rather large.

Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

I just checked mine. 12gb is about right for Medieval2 and Kingdoms.
Mods like TATW, Stainless Steel take over 2gb of harddisc space apiece.
If you unpack, plan on losing another 10gb of harddisc space.
There is no 1.5 patch for amazon download unless Sega support comes up with one.
