    The large wooden gate leading into the monastary is eventually pushed open by a pair of monks. They look upon the two girls with troubled eyes and approach them...

    Young children, are thee in need of shelter?

    The girls look at the monks and the youngest said with a foreign accent: "Yes father, we are very tired and sleepy." while dropping her eyes. The other looked upon the monks and told them: "We were taken from our home some weeks ago. We managed to escape the ships.. but.. we have no-one to turn to." She tugged her little sister to share her strength, even though it was clear she didn't have much left herself.

    The old, kind-looking monks wrapped their warm robes around the cold children and guided them through the gate into the monastary. Once inside, the two girls were given warm blankets, cups of warm milk, freshly baked bread and cheese...
