    Default Most bigoted TV character?

Which TV characters are the most bigoted, racist, homophobic, sexist, and xenophobic? Another thing I'm wondering is why are they so popular? I don't know why I like them so much. Every time they say something outrageous, I laugh my butt off. I would hypothesize that, since the advent of political correctness, it has become a social taboo to say anything politically incorrect, even as a joke. These characters unhesistatingly and unashamedly say the most racist things. Maybe they serve as an outlet for our repressed humor.

This is my short list of bigoted TV characters, with a short clip and/or quote accompanying the name.

Archie Bunker (All in the Family) - This guy is a working-class WASP, and has no tolerance for any change in his life. Basically, he doesn't like Jews, Catholics, gays, blacks, Chinese, Japanese, Irish, Puerto Ricans, Mexicans, Italians, the educated, or non-Republicans. *on the Jeffersons (a black family) moving next door* "Oh you'll think it's wonderful when the watermelon rinds come flying out the window."

Fred Sanford (Sanford and Son) - He's just as racist as Archie. The only difference between the two is their skin color. "I'll bet he got a speeding ticket. See, when Mexicans finally get their cars started, they gotta get where they're going real fast before their car stalls again."

Eric Cartman (South Park) - I don't think any introduction is necessary. He tried to exterminate the Jews after watching Passion of the Christ.

Uncle Ruckus (The Boondocks) - He's a black guy who hates every other black guy. He throws bricks at Martin Luther King Jr., preaches the word of "White Jesus," and was "happy at the back of the bus."

Well you have my two favorite TV characters there. In fact Ive always toyed with using the Name Archie Bunker on a board and saying things like he would. You couldnt really get warned after a while as they would see in reality your making an ass of yourself. But ever since I saw SP the movie Cartman is my man. He has no respect for anything in fact down right distain. Those two take the cake.

I just couldn't leave this clip out.

    Classic Cartman Moments
    *Here there be salty/offensive language!*

I remember watching the movie for the first time, when Cartman is threatening to sing that song about Kyle's Mom.

"...and it's all because she's a big, fat, stupid bi-"
    "Don't say it, Cartman."
    *singing* "Welllllllll-"
    "Don't do it, Cartman."
    "Welllllll-"
    "I'm warning you!"

When Cartman walked off, I felt so disappointed. Then he just slid back in and started singing. I almost cheered when I saw that.

Despite all of Archie's bigotry and intolerance, he didn't support the Klan. My memory's a little hazy, but one of the best episodes is when he refuses to let the Klan burn a cross on the Jeffersons' lawn.

Hmm... I hope this still qualifies but the most offensive character I've ever seen was probably Theo van Gogh playing "himself".

I beleive this guy was pretty much a bigot in real life.
But he also loved to act like one on camera just to shock people.

I recently saw some footage of him walking around on some party filled with celebrities and vip's.
He brough along a woman in a burka who he claimed was his wife.
He then stepped towards people saying: She is nice huh? I just got her circumcised to keep her quiet.
The looks on the peoples faces were priceless.

    Ahhh...RIP theo, you bigot.

I'd have to go with Archie Bunker, Fred Sanford is a very close second though. I love both these shows, I grew up watching them, even have the Sanford & Son dvd collection.

Yea Archie and Fred are prolly the most bigoted I can think of.

Edit: I forgot all about that episode where Cartman had Scott's parents grinded up into chili. That was really twisted.
