Been here a long time, been playing total war for a decade now (oh man I'm gettin old). Finally have a friend with a decent rig to play with (kinda prefer to play with my RL buddies).
First of all, in the normal S2 campaigns, what in the name of your favorite deity is wrong with the naval system? Your telling me that it takes separate turns to board AND unboard from my ship, after which neither the ship nor the unit can move (ok slight correction boats can move after offloading but who gives a toss)? Thats TWO whole turns of nonsensical inactivity, to top it off, its a SEPARATE action to unboard my agents and my armies and I can only do ONE offload action per turn? Are youing kidding me? What commander in history would have ever bothered with naval invasions this way. It ruins every advantage of naval invasion practically. Why can't my agents be merged with my army and move off the boat with them?
Next: So whats up with this assinine B.S. that as soon as units route in either land or naval battles I can't run them down and finish them off? The battle just ends and the enemy can get away even if they are strategically and literally physically cornered to where that should be impossible? Again totally a paradigm break from how Total War has and should work. I'm soing sick of chasing boats and armies around while they
with my assets when they are clearly beaten and should be wiped off the map.
Is there any way to change these things, any mods that address it?
And finally an innocent question: The otomo can apparently convert to Buddhism, since I'm currently playing as the Shimazu and my friend is playing the Otomo, does the opposite work? I wouldn't mind converting to Christianity if it meant I could stop dealing with the retardedly high conversion penalty I suffer in my territories simply by bordering his territories. And thats another sticking point, I have a monastery and TWO monks sitting in Higo and am still losing the conversion battle by 0.5 percent, WTF man, Otomo shouldn't get a 4.5% conversion bonus simply for being next to someone 2.5 or 3 at the most would be appropriate.
EDIT: I apologize for the ranty, unhelpful nature of my post, I suppose the religious conversion thing isn't as bad if I don't border Christian provinces with a church built in them, so my bad. But the naval logistics and routing thing I stand by, just rubbish. Balnacing be damned if it ruins strategic planning.
