Default Questions and Irritants: new to S2TW multiplayer.

Been here a long time, been playing total war for a decade now (oh man I'm gettin old). Finally have a friend with a decent rig to play with (kinda prefer to play with my RL buddies).

First of all, in the normal S2 campaigns, what in the name of your favorite deity is wrong with the naval system? Your telling me that it takes separate turns to board AND unboard from my ship, after which neither the ship nor the unit can move (ok slight correction boats can move after offloading but who gives a toss)? Thats TWO whole turns of nonsensical inactivity, to top it off, its a SEPARATE action to unboard my agents and my armies and I can only do ONE offload action per turn? Are you ing kidding me? What commander in history would have ever bothered with naval invasions this way. It ruins every advantage of naval invasion practically. Why can't my agents be merged with my army and move off the boat with them?

Next: So whats up with this assinine B.S. that as soon as units route in either land or naval battles I can't run them down and finish them off? The battle just ends and the enemy can get away even if they are strategically and literally physically cornered to where that should be impossible? Again totally a paradigm break from how Total War has and should work. I'm so ing sick of chasing boats and armies around while they with my assets when they are clearly beaten and should be wiped off the map.

Is there any way to change these things, any mods that address it?

And finally an innocent question: The otomo can apparently convert to Buddhism, since I'm currently playing as the Shimazu and my friend is playing the Otomo, does the opposite work? I wouldn't mind converting to Christianity if it meant I could stop dealing with the retardedly high conversion penalty I suffer in my territories simply by bordering his territories. And thats another sticking point, I have a monastery and TWO monks sitting in Higo and am still losing the conversion battle by 0.5 percent, WTF man, Otomo shouldn't get a 4.5% conversion bonus simply for being next to someone 2.5 or 3 at the most would be appropriate.

EDIT: I apologize for the ranty, unhelpful nature of my post, I suppose the religious conversion thing isn't as bad if I don't border Christian provinces with a church built in them, so my bad. But the naval logistics and routing thing I stand by, just rubbish. Balnacing be damned if it ruins strategic planning.

"I don't understand, how can you shoot women and children?"

"Aw its easy, you just don't lead them as much!"

Load at ports in provinces you control and no movement is spent on the navy and only a couple of movement points on land units. Landing in enemy provinces will always consume movement. You are free to detach all except one boat from the navy before landing to retain movement on all but that one landing ship though. Agents can sometimes be attached to stack from navies to an army that has landed just by trying to attach them after the army has landed, but this is somewhat unreliable.

Uh, you can in singleplayer, just continue to fight when it asks you to. In multiplayer campaigns this is disabled probably mostly to save people from having to watch the other player hunt down some yari ashigaru unit for 20 minutes to get one extra kill. The game automatically calculates some hunted-down losses for the routing side after the battle, depending on the relative army strengths these vary from fairly minimal to completely getting wiped.

Otomo can't convert. Ikko ikki can't convert. Everyone else can convert between christianity and buddhism. Otomo christianity is arguably inferior to proper christianity because their building chain is plain worse after the first tier.

Nanban port/quarter is the source of all that conversion power he has and that building can only be built in one province by a single clan (otomo starts with it in Bungo). For provinces not bordering on that province the conversion rate is less. If you'd play Otomo you'd probably quickly see how painful it is to deal with religion conversion with them early game.

To be honest the mod's or dev's will never answer your questions.
But look on the bright side, the mod's will helpfully advertise things like DLCs and Gold Editions.

I'm really not sure who to laugh at first.
Them for being unpaid advertising mules or us for suffering it.
