Problems are. The install exe wouldnt work. Downladed it twice. I got it to install once with run as administrator. It installed then i got the problem where it wouldnt load. The game would give me the drum roll sound, black screen then CTD. Found this thread which sounds like my problem

I dont know what the deal with this installer is. I have the installer Roma_Secrrectum_2.5.exe set to run as administrator. Double click that baddie and nothing loads. The little thinking swirl pops up beside my mouse cursor, I can hear my computer thinking real hard. But nothing seems to happen. As i stated above it had issues with it the first time but it worked once. Hope it can work this time too..Originally Posted by Windhester
More info. I have the roma_surrectum_2.5exe in my downloads folder. I have to use task manager to make it close, then windows explorer has to restart. Maybe i'm not waiting long enough for the installer to start up?
it eventually opened and re installed. So i followed the thread. reinstalled the game. Patched to 1.5. Copied that out of program files. Followed the directions in the link i found with what seemed to be my issue. I'm back where i started. I select what i want, click play. Get the drum roll sound, screen goes black and crashes. No errors given. Just crashes. Anyone have any insight?
