    Default Time Commanders

This may have already been posted on these forums but I was browsing Youtube and came across Time Commanders. It ran from 2003-2005 and had teams playing out various famous batttle with the R:TW Engine. Most of the battles are of the Roman Era so I thought i'd post it here. Enjoy .

This is Part One of Episode 1 of the first series.

The video quality ain't great but it gets better for series 2

It was such a great series. I wish they could have continued and done more battles.

I bought RTW because of this series. They were always useless at it, a team of about six people so each one just had to command cav or archers or heavy inf or whatever.
There was some twit playing the general and the subordinates would ignore everything he said still great fun.

Lol I love this show. The 'Watling Street' episode was one of cringe-worthy things I have ever seen...

    It defied all logic!

I want them to redo Decisive Battles of the Ancient World with Rome II. It would be epic.

Hell, even if they redid the show with Roma Surrectum or something it would be awesome.

Let's make it happen! Everyone write to the BBC demanding that they bring Time Commanders back

I remember sitting down to these episodes every saturday night, takeaway and coke, laughing all the way through at the horrendous decisions made by the commanders.
It was scrapped due to a lack of popularity sadly, as people just weren't interested enough

The main thing to remember that most of the teams had no PC gaming background. I think there may have been one team that did in all the episodes that I saw.

I have quite a few episodes on VHS tape from the last series (the one where Richard Hammond was the presenter).

Which is why I spent half my time laughing at their mistakes. They had not got an f clue!

    Ah... memories

I loved the show. And I couldn't believe my eyes when I found out that Rome TW actually existed in 2008.

And yes, it had been quite famously posted on the forum ( I would recommend reading http://www.twcenter.net/wiki/Total_W...r_History#2003, it gives all the essential information)
