    Default HTW on Kickstarter?

With Sigma dropped by a major publisher and my only source of income left being the iPhone game I've developed, money is not exactly going to be a commodity in my near future, which also means less time to do things. Do you guys think it would be possible to put HTW on Kickstarter without the big N throwing a banhammer at this mod since it's technically donations?

I'm looking through Kickstarter's games and I'm only seeing original IPs, so I'd guess they would sadly.

Hmmm... maybe if you set up a Paypal account... and our personal friend Chasen Lindsey needed money, so as his friends, we all pitched in to get him along? We're not funding a fan-made Nintendo IP, that's not permitted, apparently, we're just helping out a friend who's down on his luck...

Probably will just have a general "Donate for no specific aspect of my work" page floating around somewhere on my website at this rate. The majority opinion at other places I asked this question seems to be "Don't risk it!!!!"

As much as we would gladly support such a kickstarter, and as much as it would definitely help you out, the risk is too great.

However, couldn't you have a kickstarter for Sigma, since it IS an original IP? Though then you would have to put most of the money towards Sigma itself-which I'm fine with, I would start playing Sigma if I had the engine to play it on.

I'd say the safest thing would be either a Sigma page or a general page that shows some of your past and current work. (Hm. . . probably not H:TW though, just to be extra extra extra safe.)

Can't you put a paypal link on your DeviantArt? Lots of others do.

Yes, Nintendo may claim you are trying to Monetize THEIR hard work, so i wouldn't. Perhaps put a donation page up on your site and link it to paypal, so that way it is for "Other" Things, or however you label it. You could also put up a Donations page on Deviant art as well! Good luck!

If you want to keep making Hyrule Total War then I wouldn't risk going near to Kickstarter, as soon as people see it, they'll pledge like crazy and then not only will a Banhammer descend upon you, but likely so will a team of very powerful lawyers bent on slapping your buttocks into jail.

On the other hand, Sigma would probably do nicely on Kickstarter due to being an original IP, it's a shame you were dropped though.
