    Default New World Total War: Its Total War, on a New Continent

    The year is 1493, Christopher Columbus has returned to Europe from his voyage over the Atlantic and brings news of a New World over the ocean filled with Riches and land to be had!

    So now, the race is on, European superpowers abandon all wars in Europe and charge 'head-first' into the New World, sending settlers and soldiers alike to claim territories for their Empires...

    Three things stand in their way...

    First, the Ocean
    Second, the Natives...
    Third, each other...


    New World: Total War (NWTW) will be a full conversion mod for BI set between roughly 1500-1750 in the Americas.

    It will feature, an entirely new campaign map, 20 brand new factions, loads of new units (with Gunpowder ), and lots more features.

    Ive been working on a Campaign map but at the moment it has about 300 provinces so i cant show it to you... but soon...

    im pretty sure the province limit is 200

    i think you will really struggle to find modellers of enough skill but good luck nehow

    also didnt u just try to laucnh another mod a couple of days ago? that doesnt bode well...

    If your refering to Death of an Empire, its dead already, someone said it was to similiar to loads of other mods.

    Hi everyone

    Now is the time for the Preview No1

    Im pretty sure the idea will work so have a look and tell me what you think:

    New World Total War, Preview One, European Faction Building Tree and Colony System



    This is the Building Tree for all European Factions (English, French, Dutch and Spanish) and will work like this:

    Exploration Colony As soon as a new Province is captured the area must be thoroughly scouted out and the terrain and possible money-making possiblilities assessed. Exploration Colony is not a building but its construction time represents the time being taken for the lay of the land to be discovered.

    Once exploration colony is built the player chooses between 3 buildings that stream other building options towards what type of colony their's will be:

    Trade Colony (which can be upgraded to Industrial Colony), streams options towards money-making buildings such as Trading Posts. It is great for providing a boost to economy. Again, Trade Colony is not a building but its construction time represents the time being taken for trade routes to be set up and shops and businesses established.

    Frontier Colony (which can be upgraded to Expansion Colony), streams options towards military buildings such as Barracks. Frontier Colonies will show no care for money but will be purely build to create vast armies.

    Settlement (which can be upgraded to Province), streams options towards Public buildings like Churches and Schools. Settlements are a mix of Frontier Colony and Trade Colony, and, though they may seem pointless in the beginning they will undoubtedly prove useful in the latter stages of any campaign.

    Empire Major Province any Industrial or Expansion Colony or Province can upgrade to Empire Major Province, this allows all buildings to be constructed.

    You will probably be able to tell from their names what most buildings do, but here are some you may not be sure about:

    Factory is the upgrade from Foundry and is used for researching Technologies, it also provides armour and weapon upgrades.

    Trade Patrol/Militia/Town Watch these building allow military recruitment in towns. Though you will note that only Provinces and Expansion Colonies can reach the final level of Barracks. They take different lengths of time to build (with Militia being the quickest). Militia and Town Watch also allow recruitment of very low level units (Peasants).

    School-Collage-University these Education buildings will not only improve Family Member management but allow Technologies to be researched.

    There are also some features of buildings that need to be explained:

    European Trade are buildings that allow you to Trade with Off-Map Factions. There will be more information about Off-Map Factions and European Trade in a later preview.

    Technologies technologies are Gunpowder ect that are again buildings but whose construction time represents the time being take for research into these new technologies. Technologies are nessissary for the recruitment of some units and the trading of some goods.

    Im pretty sure there is a land to water ratio. That means you cant have to much water and too little land. I forget what the ratio is but you could find out from anyone else. So your idea with the Atlantic Ocean in the middle probably wont work. If I were you I would wait till Medieval 2 comes out because your idea might work then. Im not 100% positive about this though...

    But I hope Im wrong becuase this looks like a cool mod, if it works ill be a beta tester.

    There will not be the atlantic ocean, New World Total War is set entirely in the Americas.

    Im using BI so European Factions will start as a horde on the coast (or on a ship if i can make that work), but it will be a small horde and horde units will be call Colonists and they will all dissapear after you take two settlements.

    Having Europe on the map would mean any slighty overpowered factions would kill everyone else in Europe before moving onto the Americas.

    About Medieval 2, if we're less than half-way done, (which we probably will be), by the time M2TW comes out I'll carry everything over onto it and carry on as a mod for M2 but it will still not have Europe on the map.

    Campaign map preview should be coming in a few days as long as i can find someone who is remotely good at art to do the map_climates, map_features, map_roughness files.
