Icon5 Realm divide - Ughh.. which RD mod for RoTS?

New to Shogun 2 here, playing my second campaign through RoTS. Realm divide is a game killer afaic, what is the best RD mod to use for RoTS to either get rid of RD or delay it by a substantial amount?

I had a look through the mods, some of them don't work after patches and some don't say if they're compatible with RoTS.

    Recommendations please!

Thanks but it seems to change too many aspects of diplomacy.

There is a 12turns/year mod if you want more time to prepare for realm divide. The short time limit is the biggest killer for RotS

Check this mod out mate, should be what you're after:

Great for longer campaigns to plan your provinces, army compositions and overall strategy. RD will still trigger eventually but by that point you should be in a very strong position and will probably enjoy the challenge more. Works with saved games too as it just reduces your current fame to the equivalent level.

The thing about realm divide is in normal Shogun 2 you capture like 7 provinces and then all of Japan is at war with you, in fall of the samurai, you have Imperial vs Shogunate so it is a much more balanced realm divide usually.

Without realm divide it gets boring, but I'm using the radius divide mod, extends the time just enough to where you can hold your ground.

More like 17 in Shogun 2.

Really, without mods? I'm sure playing as Tokugawa I hit realm divide with 8 provinces, been a while though.

It depends mainly on the difficulty.

Also, if you recapture a province that was yours originally, that also counts towards the number of captured provinces

Heroic victories (used to be a big issue before they made the requirements to get one a lot higher), losing and recapturing provinces, vassals, high honor rating on Daimyo, difficulty level will all reduce the number of provinces you can get to before RD.

Fun fact: if you capture Kyoto before RD, you won't get RDed (except in FOTS)

The number of provinces to hit realm divide will vary based on the length of the campaign you play. It's partially a percentage of the number of provinces you have to capture in total. Obviously, when playing a short campaign you will hit realm divide much earlier than if playing a long campaign and you will have even more leeway in a total domination campaign.

However, there are other factors which will make the number vary by maybe one or two provinces--even when playing a campaign of the same length. Part of it is your Diamyo's fame and honor gained through both conquering provinces and also winning battles.

What one must look at is the honor and fame bar in the clan management screen panel. Conquering a province and looting it will count less toward the total than if the province issimply conquered and then occupied peacefully.

In my current FOTS Nagaota domination campaign. playing as Republic/independent, I got to 23 provinces before RD hit. Consequently, if one is going to choose to go independent in FOTS, playing the longer campaign is a better choice than a short campaign because unlike Shogun II, it is impossible to maintain any allies or vassals after choosing republic. It's sort of like realm divide on steroids, but lot's of fun.

    Cheers

I understand that, but I always hit 15 provinces, arrange peace treaties and get ready for RD.

Okay I see, playing as Tokugawa on very hard, it didn't cross my mind to sack cities, due to risk of revolts, and I needed every bit of stability I could get. I also had very many battles so I guess all in all, that would explain my early realm divides.

Out of intrest, is there a mod that tweakes RD (so not remove it)? Im looking for a mod that makes it a bit more like FotS realm divide. Your best allies will stick with you (without giving them a king's ransom on gold every turn), till the end. cause even in RotS your sister clan will betray you in the end

In Darth Mod your allies stick with you after Realm Divide. (Applies also to the Vassals) However getting a new ally after Realm Divide still requires crazy amounts of koku for them to join you. This change to RD is somewhat balanced by the fact that you hit legendary fame a little bit quicker than in vanilla. (As far as I recall somewhat around 14-15 provinces in Domination Campaign). And difficulty level has nothing to do with fame bar, but length of the campaign (Short -> Long -> Domination).

Forgive any grammar and spelling mistakes, but my English is a little bit rusty to say the least.

thanks for the tip, but darthmod changes way more than just RD. So im looking for something that only tweakes RD (and not removes it)
