In Search of Answers from soothsaying

[Lord Damien]

Damon Mormont Lord of Bear island arrived at a location known for having soothsayers and people that know the business in general. He was seeking answers about his future and what it might have in store for him. So he has come to first find a soothsayer and then next to find what his future has in store for him. He looked around at the shops hoping one of the owners would come to him and ask him if he needed anything. He stopped at one store that looking promising and gently knocked on the door. Hoping that the person was indeed a soothslayer and one that would be willing to help him with his task.

[Gandalfus]

The soothsayer in question was nothing but a fraud, as a man came out grumbling that his fortune hasn't worked. Across the street, however, down a dingy alley, lay a small hovel; a tattered old sign hung over it. Perhaps Damon should investigate?

[Lord Damien]

Damon Mormont listened to the man complain about something and sighed. Normally people would not complain about their fortunes and this man was clearly angry about his fortune. He turned away from the place and looked down a alley that was nearby. He walked to it and down the alley, wondering if he should of bought his guards with him on this trip although more than likely they had followed him anyway and were their to protect him. He stopped once he got to a hovel and looked at the sign over it. Well that is indeed strange but what did he have to lose. He knocked on the door and hoped for the best.

[Gandalfus]

The room was pitch black; save for a small candle that flickered in the corner. The sound of a spinning weaving wheel was heard in the background.

[Lord Damien]

Damon Mormont entered the hovel and looked around but could see nothing except a spinning wheel. He walked towards it and then stopped once he got their. The spinnning wheel held his attention as it was odd to be in a hovel when it did not belong there in the first place. Perhaps this was a place that made clothing but he doubted that as waited for whoever lived here or owned the place to show him or herself .

[Gandalfus]

An old woman sat in the corner. The wheel seemed to spin by itself, while the fire that was empty moments before roared into life inside the hearth.

[Lord Damien]

Damon Mormont watched as fire that was not their soon came alive all of the sudden and soon he saw that a wheel was spinning by itself. Wondering how in the gods name could this be happening he spotted a old woman sitting in the corner. He looked at her and then back at the fire and then back at her.

" I do not suppose you know how a fire started by itself and why a wheel is spinning by its own will do you ?. And i dont suppose you know what this place is by any chance ?. I am hoping that it would be a Soothsaying place. Am I right about that ? " He asked the old woman in a calm respectful way as he waited for the woman to respond to him. Strange he did not remmeber seeing her their before. then again it was dark soo maybe she was their all along. Anyway he hoped to get answers soon.

[Gandalfus]

she grinned, revealing a mouthful of old, rotten teeth.

Ye want te know yer future?

[Lord Damien]

Damon Mormont held back some vomit when he saw the womans teeth. But then composed himself and nodded his head at the old woman. He wondered though how she knew that, But brushed it off as not important as he looked at the old woman.

" Yes I came here to know the future of my family, And to know if I will have a son or daugther in the future. How you knew that I am not going to question. So can you tell me my future ? " He asked the old woman in a soft voice. He wondered what the woman would tell him and if he would like her reading or not.

[Gandalfus]

she extended the palm of her hand across the table.

[Lord Damien]

Damon Mormont not sure what to do extended his palm like the old womans and waited to see what would happen. He was not sure if he was suppose to touch her palm or do the same thing as her. But he figured he was suppose to do the same thing so he did.

[Gandalfus]

She slapped his hand and hissed.

Money, fool!

[Lord Damien]

Damon Mormont looked at the old woman and removed his hand and placed it on his hip. He was not going to give money to the woman until he knew his future. In fact he had a better idea. He smiled at the woman.

" How much money are we talking here ?. But Ill make it worth your while regardless. Ill give you extra the amount owned if you tell me my future. So either way you are making money and my future told and we both win. But if you do not like that I can give you the money now. But its up to you. " He wanted to call her old but held his tounge and waited for her response.

[Gandalfus]

She leant back.

Money, or no deal.

[Lord Damien]

Damon Mormont sighed and placed 200 dragons on the table before stepping back and placing his hand back on his hips. He was getting angry but he kept his cool as he waited for the womans response.

" Alright here is your money, Lets see what my future holds now shall we ? " He said in a calm voice as he waited and wondered what the woman would show him and if it was good or not. He wondered if he was going to be apart of something or will he be a name forgotten in time and history. As he waited he wondered what life would be with a child that was his own and wondered if it would be a girl or boy. He hoped a boy and maybe even one gifted as he heard in the stories.

[Gandalfus]

She gasped at the princely sum, snatching it away before he could reconsider. She took a pin.

Hold out yer hand.

[Lord Damien]

Damon Mormont watched as the woman quickly snached the money. He then did as the woman said and held out his hand and he looked at the pin and wondered what it was used for. Hmm maybe he should have read up on this soothsayer business but too late now as he waited to see what would happen.

[Gandalfus]

She pricked his little finger; sharp and fast. Blood welled up, and she held up the pin and gazed at it. She enters a trance like state; swaying on the chair.

Damon Mormont. Your fate is entwined with the grey wolf. The southern winds blow warm, but the cold north winds are the one to fear. The bear shall entangle itself with the falcon of the south, as it attempts to blame the flayed man. The lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

[Lord Damien]

Damon Mormont listened to the riddles not understanding what any of it meant. Why cant people just say it out loud what the future lies in store. Why do they have to do riddles that made little sense to him and yet some people understood them while others did not. He noticed the blood and wondered if the woman was even suppose to make him bleed. Which in most cases would mean death for whoever did it. He would keep that in mind as he asked his next question.

" But what of my family and my wife. Will she give birth to a son or will my family go without a birth heir until my son becomes of age to have his own family. And can you tell me what the Red comet means in the sky ?. " He asked the old woman as he was curious about what all of it meant.

[Gandalfus]

She groans as the trance resumes.

The bear will live on. The red dragon heralds suffering. Beware, take heed.
