Gathering Support for the Holy Land

As those in the know knew, the Kingdom of Jerusalem was in dire need of fighters. When the holy city had been captured the year before, they had few men to call upon, and now it was secure and the crusade officially over, many of those had returned home in triumph. Raymond now stood here, on the last stage of his support gathering trip, looking forward to being able to return to his new lands and help the great cause. At least he has been successful though, his entourage is considerably larger than before he had arrived in England. Father Godfrey is preparing to speak, being the member of the group most versed in English.

The Pope himself has decreed that any man who strives to rid the Holy Land of the pagan scourge of the Turks will be absolved of all sins and granted eternity in paradise! That is not to mention how they say that any man can make of himself what he was destined to be in the Holy Land. I know of men who were once humble farmers, traders, sailors, who are now knights, lords, kings! So I ask you, we leave for Jerusalem tomorrow, who is brave enough to join us?!
