Well i think those are some kind of axe warriors, but nontheless looks good to me. If they are running away from the cavalery i'd prefer them not to look back all at once.

No, those are archers. They've got quivers full of arrows on their backs.

tbh i think it looks more like they're getting charged from behind and they're just about to turn and face them

"edit" maybe not.. looking at their legs they appear to be running away

Some of the guys are facing to their left and some to their right...

    Seems de sync'd.

Though it will have been improved upon by now.

Id be pretty surprised if each soldier had the AI to observe and look at his surroundings independantly to whatever animation the rest of his body is using.. so the 'looking back' is probably just part of the animation, though it does look good. Could do with de-synching though in that particular screenshot - i remember that one being quite an early screen though so i wouldnt be too worried about that

It annoys me that we can't see their faces. Then we could maybe decide if facial expressions are indeed in (and changing according to situation) or not.

relax guys, as soon as my omnipotent generalisimous figure emerges as clan leader of Scotts, I will personnally see to it that no scottsman runs from english imperialists again, ever... never... never again.
We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in Scotland, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our mountains, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight in the lowlands, we shall fight in the highlands, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender...

Good to see the archers running (even if they are Scots). Hate to see my archers stand firm against Karkapacts in Rome, as normally one would flee. Same applies to knights, the sheere psycolagical effect of charging heavy knights plus their actual performance in battle should make archers and other light infantery flee for their lives. On another note, have seen lots of pictures of the Scots, and so far I haven't seen a single Braveheart type fictional unit. No eight feet tall Highlander with 18th century kilts and a 50kg sword. Looking good.

    Ah, so they are scots.

My bad haha, almost the same colour scheme as the French, got confused.

It would look better if some were looking back (for whatever reason) while others are not daring to and are just concentrating on getting behind those rocks!

Yeah i'm glad we haven't seen that either. Here's hoping they stick to purely historical units for each faction.

What is it with everyone here wanting historicly accuarate units , i think they are fine the way they are, i dont see why you all have to persist in say the same thing over and over again, we get the piont you dont like the skins

If you had read my post and the post that i quoted, i wasn't complaining about the unit skins not being historical. I was actually praising CA for seemingly NOT giving the Scottish fictional units. To be honest, having unit skins being 100% historically correct isn't something i'll be worrying about.

i know this it out of the point but wouldnt it be cool if the archers ran out of arrows and the little pack thing showed that it was empty

that would be cool, i have noticed the arrows in the qiuvers looking better but i doubt there will be less as time goes on
