    Default ACC to MP3?

I'm getting the LG Chocolate music phone, which says it doesn't play iTunes music (ACC format), only MP3 and WMA files. I assumed that I could convert iTunes ACC files to MP3, though I heard that this could be illegal due to the Digital Rights Movement. So, would using a converter to make ACC files MP3 be unadvisable?

I'm not sure, but I think iTunes may be able to convert it automatically.

    I'm probably wrong.

iTunes can convert MP3 to ACC, but I'm not sure if it does it the other way around. If you legally own the music, then it shouldn't matter if you change the format.

A google search came up with this, but watch out for spyware.

It also says that it can't convert protected files, such as those downloaded via iTunes. Other converters probably can.

Try dBpowerAMP Music Converter - http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm

You will probably need a codec which is downloaded and installed seperately for ACC -> MP3
You can find the codecs in 'Codec Central' - http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central.htm

Try this one (or possibly the second) if you get the program:

    mp4 / mp3 / mp2 Specific

    Advanced Audio Coding [.aac]
    mp4 [.mp4 .m4a .aac] Newest mpeg standard

As stated already. If you own the music and converting it is for personal use then there is no problem.
