Hi,
I'm having a really strange 'problem' with Shogun 2. I say 'problem' because the game still looks fantastic, but the graphics settings are currently making no sense at all.
Let's get everything out in the open from the start, my graphics card is DX11 compatible and has 1.5gb of Vram. The issue is not, as far as I am aware, one of downgrading. The 'gfx.log' file does not appear in my %appdata% after running the game, or at any other time for that matter. Therefore, from what I gather from the web, my graphics are not being throttled or limited by my hardware. This is why my problem is so strange.
On the campaign map, DX9 looks vastly superior to DX11... this should not be the case. DX9 renders the light rays from the clouds and seemingly enables the graphical enhancments that I would typically associate with DX11. DX11 just looks washed out and, for lack of a better term, rather bland.
How is it that on a DX11 compatible machine DX9 looks far superior?
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
J2D
