    Default Iceni's banner?

The Roman, Carthaginian and Macedonian banners CA has shown so far have clear roots on actual historical evidence, i was wondering if the Briton (Iceni) banner does too.

I don't really know much about pre-roman Britania and it seems to me that it's a reference to Boadicea and the brit chariots... but have they made it up or is it inspired in archeological evidence?

I'm talking about the drawing/symbol itself, not about the concept of a female with chariots.

The Dumnonii faction symbol is based on a pattern found on the back of a Mirror from Aston, Herefordshire from the 1st century BC.

The Caledones symbol is based on some artefact, but I'm not sure which one. It's a typically British reworking of the La Tene style with the open ended curves, similar to the art found of the Battersea shield and the mirror from Great Chesterford, Essex. Perhaps it is the Chesil Mirror:

I don't know what the inspiration is for the Demetae faction symbol. Perhaps it is this British Celtic Coin:

Not that I am complaining about it though , it makes sense to have a Celtic charioter for the britons .

I don´t know much about Football, but the Jones family (Chandler, Arthur and Jon) has to be the most
    athletic of all time.

Also, could you give me some info on the coin, Jack ?´ Interested in date, where it was found and such.

Honestly all i did before making this was to google "iceni/briton/iceni coin/briton coin" so i feel very limited about my opinions here ^^

I had no preferences but i'm sad San Francisco did not complete their comeback, they were so close. Jacobi Jones's 2 touch downs were great.

And sorry if I contributed to the more than probable harsh close-up of my own thread

None your fault, Jack or any other member of CA responding to your thread within 3 minutes answering your original question with a picture that answers said question is actually something to relish in. And I wanted the Ravens to win, but was glad the 49ers came back in the 2nd half. Along with the black out, made it a much more exciting game.

So this isn't deleted for being off topic.. Will we be able to control gladiators in a first person hack and slash mode? Because I'd totally buy this game if it did. Just saying.

That's a pretty good reply. That's also a pretty cool coin. It will be sweet to see that on their banners as my Roman legion cuts through their pathetic barbarian army.

According to the original link, it seems that the coin is one displayed in the Neues Museum, Berlin.

It has writing in Greco/Roman text on the bottom? I wonder what it means? Or is the coin Roman in origin?

I looked up "Sasern" and I found this page. No idea if it is relevant.

    http://www.forumancientcoins.com/num...asp?key=SASERN

btw Sasern is what is written on the coin (in case you couldn't read it)
