What has happened thus far
In 1066 William I (the conqueror) conquered england. Over the next twenty years or so he established control over England and when he died in 1087 left his successor William Rufus a strong country. Rufus was a solid king, though unable to expand control into Wales. He died on the 2nd of August 1100. His last sibling died three years before, and no direct children other than Richard exist. Richard, nicknamed Archer because he is a bastard to the sister of one of the kings archers was fathered by Rufus. In 1100 he is 24, and has been aware of his possible taking of the throne for many years. Although being a bastard never stopped his grandfather (william the conqueror) from being strong enough to take England, time will tell if he is strong enough to hold onto his legacy.
Okay, this is just for some basic continuity for reference. The whole siblings dead and no children bit never really happened. (rufus was succeeded by his younger brother henry) i'm going to pretend they died for some reason or another and my character Richard Archer a bastard took the throne. Should make things interesting.

Re: What has happened thus far
i'm taking liberties with history, but i don't want to have to play henry I so i've made a few alterations (basically considered most of the family dead) so that my bastard Richard Archer can assume the throne.
