ok from what i have read their is going to be 21 factions.....17 of which are playable...given that i thought i would just ask everyone which factions they would probably play as....i think most likely i would go with the byzantines, holy roman empire or the english....i have not really given alot of thought but thats it...what about everyone else?

    I'll probably start my first campaign with the faction that's in tutorial (I'm 99% certain that will be english);
then play second campaign also with catholic faction - probably poland since I'm lithuanian. 3rd campaign I'll choose a muslim faction (haven't decided yet - but the one which has cooler units and easy geopolitical situation - probably Turks) 4th-5th campaign - again 2 catholic factions, after that novgorod or byzantine empire
    Cheers

Well the danes at first and then the turks.
I had a great game as the turks in M1TW and hope to recreate it.

I'd love to see a Lithuanian faction in the game. Theres alot of room in the steppes area. And the Lithuanian's kingdom was a very large influence in the medieval times.

Well, in the long run I'll be playing as every faction like I did with RTW. Though at first, I'll start my first game as Scotland, solely from Celtic pride. Then the Byzantines or Russians (b/c I'm Orthodox), and slowly move from faction to faction.

I'll probably play as France first to create my continental Catholic Empire, get my pope elected, and push the heathens out of Jerusalem. But if the Papal States were somehow playable, I'd be all over that in a heartbeat, forging a new Roman Empire under the will of God!

If they are playable, Venice no doubt. I've always liked to play the italians in MTW and there is something special to start with a small nation.

I will most likely play as the Danes first.

ooh yeah being able to play as the papal states would be cool....but maybe overpowered if they gave you the power to declare crusades against who ever you choose...but regardless returning the rule of the world to its true seat of power would be fun RTW but medieval stlye

I'll play as English first and try to finish one campaign with them. Then when all the mods come out, I'll probably play as Byzantians, or maybe Holy Roman Empire. Then I will end my MTW2 era with a modded pope campaign, conquering all of Europe under the divine Papacy!

Then I will play all the Rome mods, NTW3 and so on. Looking forward to it.

I'll probably go for Spain or France and then go for Armenia

I'll pick the Byzantines first: loads of people to attack or get attacked by. Should be a challenge, both military and diplomatic. Second will probably be Sicily if they are playable. Used to have loads of fun playing them.

Armenia does not seem to be in.
It would seem that is easily rectified, however.
Much work has been done on medieval mods for RTW, therefore much of the work that will be done early on in a realism modification will be done on making new units from what we've done already...rather than time consuming research.
    I suppose, anyhow.
You'd have to ask someone involved to get a better answer.

HRE for sure will be my first campain. I am from Slovenia and in medieval ages my homeland was under their control and also my hometown has a lot of history conected with that era. =)
then i will probably play as french and englan and venice and this kind of factions - no offence, but i prefer catolic factions and culture to islam and other.

Byzantines perhaps. Maybe the French. We'll see i suppose!

I like the Catholic factions - there are a lot to choose from. I might try Portugal or one of the minor Italian factions like Venice, Milan, Sicily for a challenge though. That would be fun.
