For example, playing as the zora currently. I expanded eastern a bit, but after I took most of those settlements I had to go to war with somebody, so i picked the Gorons, they still only had 4 settlements vs my 8-10, easy fight I thought. Well what happened was that the fairies of Tarm, the Deku tribes, Subrosia, Kokiri, and Hyrule all allied themselves with each others and the Gorons, and now i am currently trying to fight off all of them. My only ally is the Lanayru Province, and they are fighting Gohma currently. This seems to happen in all my games, every faction is a pacifist towards eachother, but bloodthirsty barbarians when it comes to me.

As my Kokiri game I have quite the opposite. I have managed to maintain a 100 turn peace so far...

I haven't played a campaign as Korkiri yet, but in my games they are probably the most pro-alliance faction. I've never been backstabbed by them (even below untrustworthy) and they like to make an alliance chain it seems and stay loyal. In over half my games the Korkiri ends up allying with someone to kill the Zora, especially if the Zora are at war with the Gorons (out of like 7 or 8 campaigns I've only seen the Gorons intiate war with them like once. The Zora want to like impale every Goron in sight i swear ). Gerudo also act strangly in my campaigns. Majority of the time they ally with the other desert factions or even Hyrule and start expanding until I come in to teahc them what happens when they attempt to own mroe settlements than me (only in my offensive games of course).

I also don't seem to get these "everyone wants to kill Hyrule" games people keep having. I don't think I've ever seen them at war with more than two factions at once, half the time them ending in Hyrule getting a vassal (unless its me of course, then they are LUCKY to becomes vassals of me...raid the Korkiri again...i dare you).

My campaigns Hyrule seems to pick one fraction to just wipe out then the don't do anything
Also no matter who I play as I always have Ordona allying with Moblins and Lizalfos then all three come for me those savages
During this time Kokiri attack Zora who are attacking Gorons who are attacking usually Lanaryu who are attacking Kokiri its always amusing to just watch them work it out

Because, from what I understand of the diplomacy system, you've got a reputation rating, wich affects how the other factions treat you. Each faction you are at war with lower your reputation (means more chances to be attacked by your neighbours) while each faction you are ally with gives you positive reputation (means less chances to be attacked by your neighbours). Of course, there are other factors affecting your reputation I think, but they are mostly things you can't control (like the size of your empire: the bigger you are, the less love you'll get). I think the system is the same in vanilla MTW, but it's less problematic there because all those seas and mountains everywhere on the map prevents you from having to many neighbours most of the times, so you'll never get at war with that much people at the same time even if you don't ally with anyone and are a big expansionnist empire. On an other hand, our hyrule map being that lone big pangea-style continent, almost every single faction has at least four neighbours that can, and will attack them if their reputation gets too low.

So, basically, to avoid the "everyone out to kill you" effect, ally yourself with a few factions you don't plan on conquering as early in the game as possible. In my experience, that should make things way easier (and as you are not the most hated faction on the map thanks to that trick, you'll see that the other factions do attack each-others... though, still from my experience, they also do when every single one of them is out to kill you, really. Seems peace is a precious commodity in Hyrule.)

The easiest way to keep your reputation high and still wage war requires a faction with a diplomat for this method.

I use this as a countermeasure to the current bug of factions not being destoryed (after 10 turns of the loss of their last settlement and not getting at least 1 by then). You need a diplomat and a decent one (mid range on diplomat icons is best at least). What you do is wage war with someone and when their last settlement is captured make sure they have a standard group of units out. Not not a hero with a guard, not a hero alone, just regular troops. Now issue with this is, that doesn't always heppen but this is ebst I've come up with. Once that last group is left, offer a ceasefre, trade rights, and an alliance and try to get to at least amiable with them if possible, then bribe their troops away. This method requires you to be a bit into the campaign with a reliable economy (so no like 10 turn in rushing ). With the faction constantly there you have someone stuck with you in an alliance helping counter the ones you couldn't achieve this method with. Sadly, not all factions ahve diplomats.

This is the best countermeasure I've come up with and its worked in several campaigns. For anyone calling this cheating, go ahead, but in a way the AI cheats us with a constant "at war" with a faction for the whole game draining our reputation. Remember the "being at war each turn lowers your reputation" only happens sometime between then end of your turn and beinning of your next.

Now this is DEFINITLY cheating if you cheat up some cash and a max stat diplomat, hell yes that is cheating lol. I hope this helps some people out there who, like me, don't go constant war with everyone, all the time, for the entire campaign .

Ya I had lanayru as an ally before i attacked the Gorons. They then made a giant communist alliance to try to kill me. I am still wiping out the gorons, they only have 1 city left, I just think it is weird that in every campaign i do i am hated (Darknuts, Ghoma(ok this one i understand), Moblins, Zora, Lizalfos)

how do i get a signature ? and yeah i dont know if anyone has gone trough this but every game i start ordona ends up beating the moblins and the ikanians so the conquer all the south and the game end with me being their vassal and then getting raped by the rebels
