Default Is there any penalty for breaking ceasefire?

    Hi guys,

Is there any penalty for breaking ceasefire? In my current game (BI, Patch1.3, IBFG5) I could negotiate ceasefire for 2000, break it immediately, negotiate it again in the very same turn for the very same price, and could do it until WRE is out of money (about 5 or 6 times). I've read about the poor diplomacy model, but this was most of the time the AI breaking a ceasefire or making stupid demands.

I just wonder is there any penalty waiting for me later (like no other wants do deal with me anymore)? Or is that a bug/exploit?

    Thanks,

    Zack

Hmm, no answers? Is it already answered in an older thread?

I would like to set up a kind of rule for myself to not attack for x amount of rounds after agreeing to ceasefire. What do you think is appropriated? 6 (in IBFG = 1.5 years), 10 (2.5y) or more?

diplomacy is poor, breaking ceasefires or alliances carry no penalties. the AI is worst at it, they rarely ever honour an alliance. you may find some factions say they cant trust your words, but that happens even if you honour all of your ceasefires/alliances.
