    Default Unspecified Error

Late campaign as HRE, running on Steam, 6.4. Has run flawlessly until now. No submods, but the Teutonic descr_strat fix.

Fighting Norway outside Nykoeping. This battle - and I repeat it is the only battle where I've had a CTD - simply will not play out for me. I'm curious as to whether there's a known issue with non-vanilla Scandinavia or something.

I'm also using a ribault in battle for the first time this battle, are there any known issues with that?

The crash plonks me to desktop and tells me that Medieval II has encountered and unspecified error and will now exit. The game doesn't exit however, it remains windowed and sound plays in a loop, but the screen is black. The cursor is the Medieval II hourglass icon, and I can't have it leave the window, so I have to terminate the process manually.

    Any ideas?

    Much appreciated.

try installing/updating the latest version of rbai for stainless steel, found in the submod section. It fixes alot of battle ctd. And if it doesn't fix it, it has a battle ctd fix included, make sure you read the thread on how to use the battle ctd fix if you have to use it.

No worries Losthief, I retreated the army and fought them in a different location and it was absolutely fine. Bizarre. I guess it was a locational thing.

sweet, , i'd still install the updated version just in case for later, an older version already included in 6.4, so your just getting a better version iirc.

Thanks, but last time I had a recurring CTD and downloaded that I couldn't load SS again, and when I uninstalled it it had messed up SS and my entire Medieval II install, forcing me to do a clean one. So I'm somewhat terrified of it. Perhaps I was just a fool when installing, but I'll lay off until necessary for now.
