Im wondering if anyone can take on a small project for me. If you would take the files from Candelarius's Retrofit mod and grand unit mod and simply add order spearmen from the teutonic kingdoms campaign into his mod. I have been trying to do this for hours and im just having way too many problems. Just make them available to the H.R.E. in some building i can handle the specifics as far as that goes. Sorry if i posted this in the wrong thread i'm new to the forums my first post.

You misunderstand my request good sir. Yes i have used tutorials mainly BrandonM's post in http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=118390. I dont want to make a unit available to another faction, I want the Order Spearmen unit from the kingdoms teutonic campaign to be placed in Candelarius's retrofit+grand units mod. He added several units from kingdoms into the Grand Campaign however not all. The only one left I would like in my grand campaign (his retrofit mod) are the order spearmen (ritterbruders and such are already in the grand campaign from his mod). I find that i am getting weary of looking at armoured sergeants in my campaigns. To me order spearmen are just badass and look ready to pwn some pagans. Thank you for your patience.

Sure, somebody could probably do that. Except they can't actually send it to you because it would be illegal, since you would be sending copyrighted material from the game's data packs.

Transferring one unit from one game into a different mod requires several things, all of which are covered in tutorials in the Medieval 2 Total War mod workshop. It really isn't that hard to do provided you take some time to read the tutorials and make sure you have everything you need.

EDIT: Technically, its not illegal to transfer unit models and textures so long as you (the person receiving said models and textures) already owns Kingdoms.

Otherwise, we can't really help you out.

Well you could help me out. You see I only want u to slightly modify someone elses mod. If you check the mod the author states that it will not work unless you already have Kingdoms therefore there should not be anything illegal about it since it is already designed to work only with kingdoms. I'm not asking for Kingdoms content to work on Medieval 2 i'm asking that additional Kingdoms content be transferred to a Kingdoms mod.

Have you asked the modder or fellow players of the mod about it? The modder may agree that they should be added and/or your fellow players may have more luck adding the units than you.

No i haven't asked the modder about it. Says his last activity was April of 2010 most of his links are dead despite numerous requests from others to fix them. There are not any new posts in his threads save for bad link complaints. I just figured I would have better luck asking elsewhere. Apparently not lol.

Honestly, I'm really strapped for time and can't help you out, especially because of my own modding work. Head over to the Medieval 2 Total War Mod Workshop instead of here, and you will find really good tutorials on how to add units.

You can't just copy over another unit. Do you want to leave Hospitaller Sergeants with the same name and description and just change the way they look to Order Spearmen, or do you want to add an entirely new Order Spearmen unit?
