TATW 3.2 crashes at the first loading screen

Ok so I was playing TATW 3.0 but I found it a bit difficult and decided to download 3.2. Everything was installed alright but when I click to play, (3.2 patch) I get the loading screen with the spinning ring mouse and then it suddenly crashes and the game closes. After about 20 minutes it gives me a message about something went wrong/an error or something like that. That happens EVERY time and I have tried everything to fix it. I have: Reinstalled, Tried multiply times to open it, Uninstalled, then Reinstalled and installed patch 3.2 in another folder, but nothing! Any help would be really welcome!

Are you using Steam? Windows7/8 or Vista? Have you disabled UAC? Disable UAC and then uninstall all TATW files and then reinstall. Try doing 3.1 patch first and then patch 3.2.

I have Windows 7. I am not using Steam. Indeed I have not tried installing 3.1 first though I have thought of it. But please help a little because I'm new : What is UAC? How can I disable it?

There are two ways of doing it: Method 1 and Method 2.

I would suggest Method 1 for disabling UAC from StealthFox`s post, go here and apply step 3 from section How to fix it.

Then do the following steps:

1. Uninstall TATW using Control Panel\ Uninstall program.

2. Delete manually Third_Age_3 folder in your C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods folder. ( if your M2TW is installed somewhere els, delete Third_Age_3 folder there).

3. Unhide hidden folders (follow this How to Unhide hidden folders on Windows: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...59#post8287059)

If you can`t see the picture in that post, then this is how to do it:
On your DESKTOP, click on START in the bottom left corner, in Search Programs and Files type in Folder Options, click on Folder Options, go to VIEW section, and in Hidden files and folders check the box next to SHOW hidden files, folders or drives. Apply, and OK.

4. BEFORE installing Third Age again, go to Virtual store ( C:\ Users\ [user name or your PC`s name]\ AppData\ Local\ VirtualStore\ Program Files (x86)\ Medieval 2 Total War\ mods folder), delete Third_Age_3 folder found there.

5. Install all four TATW parts - TATW part 1 and part 2, TATW patch 3.1 and TATW patch 3.2 ( CHECK the INSTALLATION paths carefully for ALL Installers, be sure to direct all of them to your Medieval 2 Total War folder, usually it is C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War.... BUT, if your Medieval 2 Total War is installed somewhere els, browse all INSTALLERS to that installation path ).
