Default Can you invade Mordor - with friends?

In my one and only game (as the High Elves), I noticed that once I took the Black Gate it was basically up to me to finish off all of Mordor solo. There appears to be no way to allow allied armies past any choke point that you control. And the friendly AI army stacks (Rohan) hovering outside the Black Gate did not want to take the long-hike around to the back-door of Mordor.

I suppose once you capture more than one territory in there, you can start handing them off to allies? But that does not seem too practical. Most likely they'd just revert to rebel towns.

Gondor has its own avenue, but was not interested in going beyond Cirith Ungol. (at least, not in my game)

    Any advice?

if you give your allies 'Military access' by diplomacy then their armies then you can move through their garrisoned cities even at chokepoints (i moved through Gondor garrison in Minas Ithil) - and i'm assuming they can also move through your garrisoned cities or fortresses (though i'm not sure if that's the case and i don't know if they can move through one of your armies that isn't in a garrison if it's at a choke point/pass/ford - i doubt they can)

I found playing as Dale that i had no problem handing towns back to Rohan if i built culture increase buildings and got their Northmen culture up to 75% - when i handed over by diplomacy they immediately got a Rohirrim garrison (though that didn't work out too well as they declared war on the Silvan elves as i'd beaten Mordor and made sure Rohan had no border with Isengard any more). I think this was because Rohan and Dale are both Northmen in culture

However if i gave settlements to the High elves or Gondor they got no garrison and just went rebel - i'm guessing this was down to culture as Isengard and Mordor had held them for a long time, but not sure

If that factions culture is over the minimum requirement to recruit their troops, they will get a unit stack. If it isn't e.g. Gondor need 33% and the culture is only 32% they will not get any troops.

I also think that it woul be possible to move troops through cities/castles, but not staying in them.

Also to the actual attack problem, you can "easily" through Forced Diplomacy make Gondor attack Mordor in someway spam attacks. Press F1 in game to see how that works I know it's kinda cheating but as 1st Viscount, Lor'themar Theron said, the AI is stupid..... But it is also someway smart. A faction that is under attack on one border wont start an attack on another border. Maybe it is because Gondor is under seige by Harad?

I solved this by taking the settlements around the Anduin at Harondor. Then Gondor and Harad had no border and i fought with Harad instead.

The AI in Medieval II is really stupid and most of the time you end up destroying Mordor alone. The only factions that I have ever seen attacking and Invading mordor are Gondor (If the survive with your help), Rohan and Silvan Elves if they capture Dol Guldur.

Forced Diplomacy is a submod so Goldschlager might not have it installed.
    In it for the rep.

Allies can not pass the Black Gate or Cirith Ungol unless they own them, even with military access. They can walk around settlements but not through them and both of those settlements block the path. Minas Morgul can be walked around.

The only way - unless by some miracle they go the long way around - for a joint attack is by the ally owning one of those ways in. But then other allies still won't be able to get in. Unfortunate, but if these places could be walked around then it would be too easy to get into Mordor. Which one does not simply walk into.
