Trouble Installing TATW

Alright so I have been having some issues with the installation process. First my issue was kingdoms.exe not found then after a bit of digging I discovered it was because I installed it to the mods folder which resulted in the error. after uninstalling and then reinstalling to E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War . I get another error but this time it is unnamed when I click the Third age Total war Icon. All I receive is a blank text box with a Error triangle. <( like the icon in the topic. you get what Im saying) anyway all help you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated. If you need my specs or something I will be happy to provide.

I think I am having a secondary issue that I need an answer to. I renamed my Third age folder to Americas and the Americas folder to third age but when I launch it crashes shortly after launching. No error it just drops. ?????? alittle confused here guys

Yes, you should always at least start a M2TW or Kingdoms for one time, just so that the base game gets its data files needed, preferences etc..

Alright, well I would do all of those helpful steps but now Medival total war is refusing to launch and idk why? it launched yesterday before I installed the mod and now its not. I re-installed and now it either double launches the launcher or says failed to launch the app already running.

Okay, ask for help in the main M2TW Tech help forum to get the main game working. Then if you still can't get TATW to work come back here.

Im having the same problem with finding Kingdoms.exe but funny thing is that i have 2.1 able to work in the another sub folder..i had all this downpat on my old cpu but it died and im using an older one with XP and i cant seem to get 3.0 to work all installed everything followed to the letter but when i go to start 3.0 it says it cant find kingdoms.exe but its still in normal place in the main MTW2 folder and i have the retail version Gold version of MTW2..Im going crazy looking for it lol..any help please im over playing 2.0 haha

Hey guys, I was able to install Medieval total war without steam, because I have a digital download I purchased a while ago. So the installation went a lot smoother for the TATW mod. However I am getting an issue with it crashing. after about apx 10 minutes of gameplay it crashes to desktop and closes the window without an error. It also crashes if I raise the resolution to 1920x1080. Do you guys happen to know how to fix??

Maybe you have an overheating issue... your card is superclocked as you say
This bold part can reffer to overheating. Do you have any temperature monitoring program?

What options? lol you didn't post anything after. and its not like I have a bad graphics card. my graphics card is a gtx 680 superclocked +

The last sentence refers back to the previous sentence. I was talking about both resolution and graphic options.

Ok so I did a bit of a test, If I try to change the resolution to max on the other games it also crashes them. do you have any recommended graphics settings or known selections that causes it to just crash? For TATW of course

I updated to 1.5 and I thought I had fixed it but i9t crashed after like an hour. This time I just did recommended settings.

Try disabling shadows and lowering vegetation/grass. Those are huge performance hogs. Even though you may have a beast computer, it doesn't matter so much as M2TW isn't configured to take advantage of it. It only uses on core of your processor, and I've also heard it will only use 2GB of RAM.

Yeah my processer is a quad core i7 ivy 3.9ghz and I have 16 gigs of ram so that's why im like its not my computer lol

Ok so I appreciate all the help ive gotten so far. I lowered the graphics and it seemed to be working great, then I went into a custom battle and it crashed. this time it said Medieval total war has encountered an unspecified error and will now close. no error or event id in the windows log.

Were you trying to use a custom settlement? Might just be a random crash. Try again and see if it works.
