You can try lowering the min_angle of the elven_arrow in descr_projectile.txt. If that doesn't work (I am guessing it will not) than there is no easy way, but it is possible with the right model and code editing.
Not sure why you would want such a thing as in real life you will probably just shoot your own troops in the back of the head.

You could try opening up the loose formation more, double it at first I guess. Worth a try as it is super easy to do and your archers might have a straight shot at the enemy. However, it will not work if they are coded to shoot over the formation instead of over individuals. I would guess it is individuals but I don't know, never tried to do it. If it does work this would be a wicked tactic as archers do a lot more damage and have a lot more accuracy when they fire straight, which is how it should be.
